Can you please tell me how this game is different from the Silent Hunter 5 PC game? Also what common aspects can we expect?

Different:
Fast-paced Tactical Combat for an engaging and quick gameplay

Original story and game play set in WWII
Survival mode - greatest challenge of all - defend the famous German battleship Bismarck against countless waves of attacking enemies
No time compression

Common:
Objectives-based Game Play
Customization
Detailed and Authentic Models
Setting (WWII Atlantic Ocean and North Sea)
Engage convoys  in random encounters selected on the map

What are the focus and the scope of the game?

We have an original story and gameplay set in WWII with 12 exciting campaign missions and other numerous random encounters to complete. You start as a rookie captain performing routine intercept missions for the German Navy. Later you can become an ace of WWII as you perform special tasks and fight your battles in the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean while navigating and fighting in free roaming mode on the NW Europe map.
After you master the various weapons at your disposal, you can take the greatest challenge of all – defend the famous battleship Bismarck - in the Survival Mode.

Is there any multiplayer and how does it work?

The game is single player only.

Given the legacy of the Silent Hunter series what was your approach to authenticity?

We have strived to keep the simulation aspect alive while offering a very intuitive gameplay and adding more action to the title, to make it more suitable to the iPhone platform. You can choose between 3 detailed German submarines and you will fight ships and airplanes, accurately modeled from their real-life counterparts. The ships react naturally – they leave water trails, smoke and break when they are destroyed.

How did you use the strengths of the iPhone and what interesting challenges did you encounter to create an interesting experience?

We tried to make use of as many as possible of the iPhone strong points: as you’ll see, the accelerometer is present in almost every mini-game (steer the sub, operate the periscope, the deck-gun or the guided torpedoes a.o.), while the touch and multitouch are essential to the game (navigate on the map, zoom in to see closely the significant cities and ports of Europe, control the Flak gun to shoot down the enemy air force, change your speed or depth by only one single touch a.o.).
When we started this project, we aimed to deliver the best possible experience for our players. In order to achieve it, we had to use the iPhone resources in the most efficient way and manage the variety of challenges posed by this scope.

Can you please tell us a bit about the developer team behind the game?

The team that developed the Silent Hunter iPhone is a young one in a new studio. Most of them worked on Silent Hunter 5 PC in most game areas, thus knowing very well the title. Then, they accepted the challenge to develop on their own, from scratch, on a new platform, the iPhone version of the submarine franchise.

How high did you raise the bar in terms of graphics? Silent Hunter series was always renowned for the immersive visuals.

In terms of graphics, we are the only game on the market which has both above and under water environment. When we combined that with the 3D water simulation, we obtained a "natural" feeling when navigating with the U-Boat.
The visual content is very diverse, the user will encounter in his journey, levels with different atmospheric conditions: fog, rain, winter, aurora borealis, day, night, sunset.
The game tries to simulate the war theater of the WWII by providing realistic ships and weapons arsenal, allowing the user to control different U-Boat types and specific weapons: deck-gun, torpedoes and Flack gun.
The war environment is enhanced by exploding ships, airplanes, underwater depth charges and bullets.
While the in-game graphics keep you connected during the gameplay, the game keeps you connected to the storyline with our campaign cinematics.
